Job Description

The Job Role We are looking for experienced Fitters / Turners / Machinists to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry. Duties and Responsibilities

• Fanuc controls
• Mastercam
• Horizontal Machining Centres
• Horizontal Borers
• Double Column Machining Centres
• Reviewing engineering plans, materials, specifications & machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions & tolerances.
• CNC programming, setting & operating

Turning Centres & Machining Centres

• Prepare CAM programs for a range of machines, 3, 4 & 5 axis including Multitask Machines, Turning Centres & Machining Centres.
• Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part & sample work pieces: adhering to Australian standards
• Detecting malfunctions; adjusting & reprogramming controls: sharpening & replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures & processes.
• Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures & regulations
• Maintaining equipment with preventative maintenance

Qualifications & Requirements

• CNC Machinist Trade background
• We require someone who is versatile, reliable & motivated
• A keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude
• Willingness to gain knowledge & skills as well as an understanding of production is highly desirable
• Relevant trade qualifications
• At least 3 years experience
• Strong CAM skills
• Strong Machining skills
• Strong understanding of tooling applications
• An ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team environment
• High standard of safety awareness & culture
