A privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the scrap metal industry.  Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal.

What are we looking for:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Non-Ferrous Metal Person who is safety focused, self-motivated, flexible, able to prioritise and focused on delivering great customer service.   previous experience within the scrap metal industry would be useful.  You must have a positive attitude, well-mannered and be well presented.  The successful applicant must be available to work every second Saturday. Have the ability to multi-task and adapt to different tasks throughout the day is crucial.  Each day brings new challenges, so forward-thinking and a strong safety-conscious mindset are key. 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid driver's licence .

• Experience in operating forklifts for yard and shed movements (both indoor and outdoor)

• Proficiency in performing pre-start checks

• Strong understanding of safe operating procedures and adherence to company policies

• A strong commitment to safe work practices

• Previous experience in the scrap industry is preferred - especially with Non-Ferrous Metals.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and confidently operate various types of equipment.

• Load and unload trucks and customer vehicles.

• Assist in maintaining the safety and security of the facility

• Actively participate in safety initiatives, including pre-start checks, toolbox meetings and incident reporting

• Be flexible with working hours, including the availability to work overtime and weekends as required (including Saturdays).

Work Environment:

• The job is in a Scrap Metal yard, which is a noisy, dusty and hot environment

• PPE (personal protective equipment) is supplied.

• Roster will be 7.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday with every 2nd Saturday work

• On job training will be given to the right candidate
