We are looking to recruit a Field Service Technician for our client who support customers across the industrial, construction and mining sectors. Based in
Mackay and servicing
Central QLD, this is a hands-on role responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance and technical support of lifting, rigging and height safety equipment, while delivering outstanding service to customers in the field.
This opportunity will suit someone with a mechanical or trade background who enjoys working on-site, solving problems and building strong customer relationships. Please note that this role will require extensive travel to customers in the Bowen Basin.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, key responsibilities include:
- Conducting inspections and testing of lifting, rigging and height safety equipment at customer sites
- Completing accurate service reports and asset updates using the company asset management system
- Performing repairs and maintenance on customer equipment both on-site and in-house
- Assisting with installation of rigging, hoisting and height safety systems
- Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment, machinery and load cells
- Travelling to customer sites and manage efficient travel and job scheduling
- Working above ground, underground and at height where required
- Identifying opportunities within existing accounts and refer potential opportunities to the sales team
- Supporting other operational areas including stores, wire rope and chain assembly when required
- Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and vehicle
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Providing professional service and technical support during site visits
- Communicating clearly with customers regarding inspection results, repairs and service delivery
- Responding to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Working collaboratively with internal teams across multiple branches
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Mechanical, technical or trade background preferred
- Experience in field service within mining, construction or engineering environments desirable
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and organisational ability
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Qualifications:
- Secondary school completion or equivalent
- Current driver's licence
- Riggers or Doggers ticket highly regarded
