Role details

The Operational Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Groundsperson to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

This position will be responsible for providing a clean, safe and pleasant grounds environment which is maintained, adhering to the principles of Workplace Health and Safety and Infection Control.

About the Team

Operational Services provides and co-ordinates a diverse range of services that support the clinical divisions in the delivery of patient centred health care at Mackay Base Hospital. The department consists of the following keys areas:

  • Cleaning Services;
  • Wardsperson Services;
  • Waste Management;
  • Grounds and Gardens; and
  • Patient Equipment Loan Store (PELS).

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
