Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a marine contractor at the forefront of the Maritime Industry in Northern Australia and the Pacific Rim. With approximately 200 employees working in the main divisions of Maintenance, Marine, Diving and Construction, PMG prides itself on its ability to efficiently undertake work in each of these areas as well as complete larger projects integrating all divisions of the business.

As a result of ongoing growth within our business, and numerous upcoming projects, PMG are looking for experienced Skilled Labourers and Trades Assistants to support our Maintenance and Logistics teams on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing and may be required to undergo a medical and/or police check.

 

Duties of this role include:

  • Assist tradesmen with various marine operations, barge and tugboat repairs, maintenance and project preparation
  • General labour duties including site cleaning, material handling, and equipment preparation
  • Undertake truck, crane & vessel loading and unloading activities as assigned
  • Undertake the maintenance and housekeeping of PMG's yard and/or worksite as assigned

The following qualifications are desired:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Forklift and/or crane operator license (advantageous but not required)
  • Dogging experience/ticket
  • Working at heights
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • High Risk Work Licences

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the marine or construction industry (not mandatory but preferred)
  • Experience with abrasive blasting, painting, or ship repairs (highly desirable)

Skills:

  • Willing to have a go and reliable
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of physical fitness
  • Commitment to safety and following all workplace safety procedures
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in the marine industry
