About the Role This is a pure inside sales and new business hunting role, ideal for someone who understands industrial customers and enjoys building business from the ground up. There are no established accounts handed over initially, and success comes from outbound calls, reactivating dormant customers, and growing smaller or ad-hoc users.
You'll be given a clear monthly product focus, so every call has purpose. There is occasional travel (once or twice a month) to visit customers, attend demos, or support field sales when required.
Responsibilities - Make outbound sales calls to new, dormant, and underutilised customers
- Introduce targeted product ranges and grow account usage
- Manage inbound enquiries and convert them into sales opportunities
- Follow the sales process from first contact through to close
- Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting
- Build strong, practical relationships with industrial decision-makers
About the Candidate The ideal candidate must be a mature, confident, and resilient professional with a strong customer service mindset, comfortable operating in a traditional industrial environment and engaging with experienced trade and operations decision-makers.
The ideal candidate must have: - A strong customer service background, with the ability to build trust, follow through, and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Experience in inside/internal sales within industrial supplies or background in field sales with a desire to move into an office-based role or a welding, boilermaking, or industrial trade background with a transition into sales
- Exposure to welding, industrial supplies, tools, or consumables
- Strong communication skills, including confidence in handling objections and progressing sales conversations
- Comfort working the phones, managing multiple enquiries, and conducting outbound activity
- Ability to use CRM systems and work effectively in an office environment
