At City Beach, our people are at the core of what we do, both our customers and our team. All are welcome under the City Beach roof, where value is placed on individual style, teamwork, authenticity, adaptability, and a desire to exceed expectations.

We stock some of the world's biggest brands across surf, skate, streetwear, and fashion. Our stores are a hub that connect our customers to events, influencers, and trends, allowing them to live life on their terms.

The role:

As an Assistant Store Manager our City Beach Canelands store, you’ll help lead a high-energy team, drive performance, and create unforgettable customer experiences. Working side-by-side with the Store Manager, you’ll coach and motivate your team, recruit and retain talent, and ensure operational excellence within your store. If you’re ready to make an impact and help shape the future of one of Australia’s iconic retailers, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead a customer-first culture by creating a supportive, growth-focused environment for your team.

  • Drive store success by setting clear expectations and smashing KPIs across Sales, People, Compliance, Visual Merchandising, Wages, and Safety.

  • Oversee daily store operations — from team leadership and stock management to loss prevention, store presentation, and promo execution.

  • Support the Store Manager to manage wages to balance profitability, efficiency, and customer experience.

  • Analyse results and partner with the Store Manager to develop strategies that boost performance and elevate the customer experience.

  • Coach, train, and develop your team, building capability and supporting career growth.

  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent within the store team.

  • Maintain a safe, compliant, and positive workplace, ensuring WHS are met.

  • Champion store initiatives and ensure your team brings organisational goals to life.

  • Drive a culture of continuous learning, empowering the next generation of leaders.

What we are looking for:

  • 1+ years of experience in a customer service–focused management role.

  • Experience in fast-paced retail, FMCG, or hospitality environments is highly regarded.

  • Proven ability to drive sales performance and manage operations to achieve targets and KPIs.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and hands-on approach to store operations and team engagement.

The benefits:

  • Enjoy a 40% team member discount for you, your friends and family to access.

  • We have partnered with industry leaders to bring our team members discounts on products and memberships to keep you healthy on all fronts, including:

    • Access to a free Employee Assistance Program.

    • Discounts on Studio Pilates Class Passes

    • Complimentary consultations with Westpac & NAB

    • 7% discount on Medibank private health insurance.

    • Up to 15% off at Strike Bowling & Holey Moley.

  • Beach parties ($100 – $300 gift cards up for grabs for best dressed).

  • Endless succession pathways to different roles within Stores, Head Office, or Distribution Centre.

  • Awesome in-store competitions and sales incentives.

  • Prezzee Gift Cards for major milestones and yearly anniversary certificates.

  • A monthly day off (4-day week once a month).

  • Bonuses based on sales & customer service levels.
