Ready to step up your Facilities career in a role with real impact?
This is a rare opportunity to join a leading private property group, known for its strong team culture, supportive leadership, and proven track record of career development. With a national portfolio of shopping centres and a reputation for operational excellence, this is your chance to make your mark at a key sub-regional asset in Townsville.
As the Operations Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things operations, maintenance, and safety across the Centre. Reporting to the Centre Manager and backed by a national FM team, you’ll enjoy autonomy, access to excellent systems, and strong professional support.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading day-to-day facilities operations, with a focus on safety, presentation, and performance.
Preparing and managing operational and capex budgets.
Developing the Centre’s annual strategic plan in collaboration with the Centre Manager — including lifecycle reporting and capital works recommendations for aging plant and building elements.
Overseeing the full scope of design, tendering, and contract procedures.
Managing the Maintenance Manager to:
§ Oversee contractors and suppliers.
§ Coordinate tenancy de-fits and fit-outs.
Assist with project-managing capital works, minor works, and current initiatives.
Building strong working relationships with tenants, contractors, and stakeholders.
Creating and maintaining Centre manuals and risk mitigation tools (fire, flood, cyclone, incident response, etc.).
What we’re looking for:
Proven facilities management experience within a high-visitation or large-scale asset.
A proactive, hands-on attitude — you’re a “doer” who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Strong knowledge of WHS compliance, contractor management, and risk.
Solid budgeting and cost control experience.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Why join this team?
Join a collaborative, high-performing national property group.
Gain autonomy while still being supported by robust FM systems and networks.
Thrive in a dynamic, high-profile retail environment.
Competitive salary + performance bonus + phone allowance.
Relocation support available for the right candidate.
