Experienced Haulage Operator

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Experienced Haulage Operator to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials, equipment, or products using a range of heavy vehicles and haulage machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate haulage vehicles and equipment (e.g., Haul trucks, Articulated Haul trucks, Water trucks) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Transport materials between sites or within site boundaries in line with operational requirements.
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on vehicles and machinery.
  • Follow site procedures, load management practices, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Accurately complete pre-start books, run sheets, and any other required documentation.
  • Monitor and Interact with the site Fleet Management System (HEXAGON OP Pro)
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free vehicle and work area.
  • Report any incidents, hazards, or vehicle issues promptly.
  • Support general labouring tasks or site operations as required

About You:

  • Current and valid driver’s licence (MR/HR/HC/MC as applicable)
  • Previous experience operating Haul Trucks or heavy machinery (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Open cut hard rock experience preferred
  • Competency tickets for relevant machinery beneficial (e.g., loader, dump truck, forklift)
  • Understanding of fatigue management and obligations
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical operations and vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong focus on safety and compliance
  • Physically fit and able to work in a variety of outdoor conditions.
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends and shift work.
  • Reliable, punctual, and proactive
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to undertake further training and certifications as needed.
