About the role

DRA Operations are currently seeking an experienced CHPP Maintenance Fitter / Step Up Supervisor to join our core team on site in Central Queensland. This position will be offered on a Full Time Max contract and will see you work a 7/7 roster, Dayshift Only with flights from Cairns, Townsville or Rockhampton provided and camp accommodation whilst on site.

Whilst Cairns, Rockhampton and Townsville are our primary FIFO hubs we encourage applicants from all regional Queensland communities to apply.

As apart of our core team, you will find that no two days are the same on site with DRA. Your duties will include but not be limited to;

  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on CHPP plant equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant performance.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records and documentation relating to inspections, maintenance activities, modifications, and repairs.
  • Provide operational support and leadership when stepping into the Supervisor role, including coordinating maintenance activities, allocating tasks, and supporting the crew to achieve safe and efficient outcomes.
  • Assist with planning and prioritising maintenance tasks to minimise plant downtime and support production targets.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by ensuring work is carried out in accordance with site safety systems, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and maintenance practices through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and support the general upkeep of all areas of the CHPP, Train Loadout, and Yard.

About you

Our ideal candidate is a positive and safety-conscious team player with a strong work ethic who posses the following;

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Relevant experience from a fixed plant maintenance background in a similar industry
  • Experience with fixed plant hyd systems - highly regarded  
  • S1,2,3/G2 - Supervisor Certification
  • Current Coal Board Medical
  • Current Standard 11
  • Valid Australian Drivers License
  • Valid Right to Work in Australia
  • SARC Cert (Safety Access Rail Corridor) - Highly regarded
  • Demonstrated safety focus with the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a dynamic team
