The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the safe and efficient operation of the Moranbah Gas Processing Facility (MGPF), water treatment plant, well sites, gathering systems, and associated infrastructure. This role is accountable for statutory compliance and plays a key leadership position in driving operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the safe and compliant operation of the Moranbah Gas Processing Facility and associated assets, fulfilling statutory duties as the Site Safety Manager.
  • Ensure reliable production performance, meeting contractual product specifications and delivery schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement across operations, maintenance, safety, and plant performance.
  • Lead and develop site personnel, ensuring capability, compliance, and adequate resourcing for operational requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients and overlapping tenure partners, ensuring strong communication and operational alignment.
  • Oversee shutdown planning, operational integrity, and maintenance practices to maximise reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Contribute to OPEX and CAPEX budget development and manage expenditure within approved limits.
  • Maintain and improve the GRPS/QPME Integrated Management System and support HSEQ requirements, including incident reporting and emergency response readiness.
  • Provide reporting, operational insights, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in hydrocarbon or related operations.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the Coal Seam Gas industry.
  • Proven leadership, communication, operational planning, and decision‑making capability.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and business planning.
  • Knowledge of facilities, maintenance, engineering, and project management.
