About the role

Join Mackay’s largest renewable energy provider – Mackay Sugar, for the 2026 Crushing Season. Each of the three Mackay Sugar Mills incorporates an integrated power station, supplying electricity and thermal steam to power the milling process, as well as providing electricity to the both the Mackay Region and national grid. Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, you will have the responsibility for operating and monitoring steam turbines, boilers, electrical generators in the power station at each of our mills.

Vacant Positions

•  Milling Plant Attendants (Permanent Roles) - Turbine Operator (HRWL) required
•  Boiler & Powerhouse Trainee Roles (Fixed term roles with opportunity to transition to Permanent for successful trainees) – No qualification required; industrial experience preferred

• Dedicated to work towards obtaining Turbine Operator and Boiler Advanced HRWL for career progression

• Availability for duration of crushing season
• Ability and willingness to work shift work, weekends and some overtime where required

·         Currently hold a manual car license

·         Bring a positive attitude and thrive in team settings
