Position Available: Freight Officer / Forklift Operator

Location: Townsville

About the Role:

As a Freight Officer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient handling and receipt of freight, with responsibilities that include loading, unloading, and securing general freight of all sizes.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have prior experience in load restraints using ratchet straps, chains, and binders . Your skills will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our business, making a real impact on our overall success. Key Responsibilities:

• Operating various sized counterbalance forklifts (2.5T, 7T and 16T)
• Processing various types of general freight from beginning to end (palletised, ugly and oversize)
• Secure and restrain all loads as per the load restraint guide, with ratchet straps, chains and binders
• Ensuring all scanning is accurate and complete for freight in the received, loaded, staged and unloaded functions
• Preparation of outgoing freight ensuring that goods are secured and packed correctly for dispatch

Skills and Experience:

• Current Forklift Licence (LF)
• Experience with general ugly/oversize freight
• Ability to take direction from management and supervisors
• Preferred scanning experience
