Metroll is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Leading Hand to lead daily manufacturing operations at our Townsville site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving team performance, safety, quality and on-time delivery across our metal building products operation.

You will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved, staff are supported and developed, and a strong safety culture is maintained across the factory floor.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee day-to-day factory operations and step up in their absence to ensure production schedules are delivered efficiently and safely.

Metroll Townsville manufactures and distributes metal building products including roofing sheets, wall cladding, fencing, flashings, guttering and structural purlins. This role suits a confident supervisor from a manufacturing environment who enjoys leading from the front, coordinating workflow and solving problems in real time.

Key responsibilities

People leadership & supervision

• Lead, supervise and support factory staff

• Manage daily workload and shift coordination

• Enforce company policies and procedures

• Address performance or conduct issues where required

• Foster a positive and accountable team culture

Production coordination

• Print and process work schedules

• Ensure delivery timeframes are met

• Monitor workflow and productivity across the factory

• Liaise with dispatch, loaders and drivers to ensure smooth operations

• Coordinate repairs and maintenance as required

Quality & compliance

• Oversee quality control across production

• Ensure all WHS and OH&S standards are followed at all times

• Record and report operational issues to the Operations Manager

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Team Leader or Production Supervisor

• Experience within a manufacturing environment

• A valid Forklift Licence (essential)

• Strong knowledge of WHS practices and safe work procedures

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Strong organisational, problem-solving and time management skills

• Confident computer literacy

• A proactive, hands-on leadership style

Machine operating or building products industry experience will be highly regarded.
