At Tassal Group, we are dedicated to “Sustainably Feeding Tomorrow.”
With over 35 years of aquaculture experience, we focus on providing healthy, sustainable, and nutritious food, including salmon, prawn, and barramundi. We are committed to producing accessible food, supporting communities, and delivering strong economic results, all while prioritising sustainability to ensure a prosperous, healthy planet for future generations.
The Role:
Tassal is seeking an experienced and organised Senior Dispatch Supervisor to join our team at our processing facility in Proserpine. If you have FMCG and logistics experience and are looking for a new role with a perfect work/life balance, this is the opportunity for you. You will play a critical role in ensuring our wonderful Aussie prawns get to where they need to be, on time. Overseeing the entire dispatch process, you will thrive on meeting deadlines during our key peak seasons, including Christmas and Easter, ensuring our product reaches customers across the country.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily dispatch operations, ensuring all outbound prawn products are processed accurately and despatched on schedule.
Work collaboratively with your team and the wider logistics department to effectively manage frozen and chilled storage capacity on site.
Lead, motivate, and develop a small dispatch team, fostering a culture of accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
Collaborate with inventory management to improve processes, ensuring correct stock levels of packaging, raw materials, and consumables are always available for production needs.
Proactively manage the dispatch process during high-pressure peak periods (Christmas and Easter), coordinating effectively to meet tight deadlines.
Champion and apply Continuous Improvement (CI) processes to drive operational efficiencies and improvements within the dispatch function.
Adhere to and champion all workplace health and safety procedures and environmental protocols.
Role Requirements:
Proven experience in stock and stores management, ideally within an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team to achieve targets.
Experience or exposure to Continuous Improvement (CI) processes and methodologies.
Strong logistics and planning skills with the ability to manage capacity and workflow.
Forklift license (desirable).
Role offerings:
A full-time role with a competitive hourly rate, working 40-48 hours per week (including occasional Saturdays as production requires).
The opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated team that drives operational efficiencies and improvements.
A friendly, supportive, and safety-focused team environment.
Access to the Maxxia Rewards programme for discounted shopping and entertainment.
Workplace health and wellbeing support for you and your family.
An unbeatable lifestyle location, with the role based only half an hour from both the beautiful beach towns of Airlie Beach and Bowen, giving you the freedom to enjoy the beauty of the Whitsundays in your time off.
Company culture:
Our people each contribute in different ways, embracing our business values and harnessing our can do – safely culture with purpose and intent. Our shared values are an essential part of our business culture, they define us. They underpin and guide our commitment, attitude, how we work and the quality of our products. We are passionate, we achieve together, we own it and we can do it safely.
We encourage early applications as we review on a daily basis.
