CLS services 800+ customers across the hospitality, aged care and health sectors, delivering essential linen and garment rental and laundry services. Some of Queensland’s most iconic hotels, hospitals and resorts rely on CLS every day.

With a workforce of approximately 350 dedicated employees, CLS launders more than 500 tonnes of textiles per week across multiple processing plants and distribution centres, supported by a fleet of 30 vehicles.

About Rockhampton

Our Rockhampton facility is a newly commissioned, state-of-the-art plant and represents a major investment in the future growth of CLS.

Designed with modern workflow efficiencies and high-capacity processing capability, the site is forecast to process up to 140 tonnes per week, positioning it as one of the largest and most strategic operational hubs within the CLS Group.

This is an opportunity to lead a flagship regional facility during a critical growth phase.


The Role

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of daily laundry operations at our Rockhampton site.

This is a senior operational leadership role overseeing a high-volume processing facility with responsibility for safety, productivity, financial performance and team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a workforce of approximately 100 employees, ensuring capability, coverage, engagement and performance align with company benchmarks.

• Driving production output across sorting, washing, finishing and packing departments to meet strict processing timelines and customer service standards.

• Monitoring plant throughput and optimising workflow to achieve projected 140 tonne weekly capacity.

• Analysing systems, workflows and staffing structures and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

• Monitoring and improving operational and financial performance, including preparation of weekly KPI reporting.

• Creating and authorising staff rosters across split shifts to align labour with demand.

• Hiring, onboarding and overseeing training and leadership development across departments.

• Managing logistics coordination between customers and the laundry floor.

• Overseeing R&M resources to ensure plant reliability, including preventative maintenance scheduling and coordination of reactive repairs.

• Maintaining strong customer relationships and proactively resolving service issues.

• Ensuring full compliance with WHS systems and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

• Reviewing safety operating procedures and addressing departures from agreed standards.

The role is Monday to Friday, with some weekend work required during peak seasonal demand.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams (80–100+ employees) in a fast-paced production or industrial environment.

• The ability to create a positive, safe and high-performance work environment.

• Strong operational and analytical capability with a focus on productivity, efficiency and financial outcomes.

• A hands-on leadership style with a genuine willingness to be present on the floor and lead from the front.

• A practical and pragmatic approach to prioritisation and problem-solving.

• Clear and professional communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.

• High competence using Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.


Salary & Application

This role offers a salary of up to $100,000 per annum, based on experience and capability.

Salary progression will be considered based on demonstrated performance, outcomes and contribution to the business.

The position is available immediately, with flexibility around commencement.
