9-Day Fortnight | FIFO from Brisbane or DIDO Options AvailableExceptional Camp Facilities – Gym, Pool, Tennis Courts & Great FoodLead Commercial Performance at a Major Open-Cut Mining Operation We are currently seeking a Commercial Superintendent at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) – Coppabella Mine. Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets. The role: Step into a pivotal commercial leadership role at the centre of mine operations. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be the key financial partner driving value, efficiency, and performance across the operation. You will lead a small, high performing team focused on delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and strategic advice that supports sound decision making. This is your opportunity to influence outcomes that directly shape the financial success of the mine. Duties will include: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the mine operator’s finance team and Peabody’s on-site leadership group.Drive a culture of commercial awareness by identifying and monitoring value-adding initiatives that enhance cost efficiency and operational performance.Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, including the preparation and review of general ledger entries and strict control over capital and operating expenditure.Deliver timely and insightful monthly and quarterly forecasts, variance analysis, and performance commentary.Uphold compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks, safeguarding the company’s assets and financial governance standards.Lead the preparation and review of five-year business plans, budgets, quartile forecasts and associated management presentations.Provide robust financial analysis and evaluations to support strategic and operational decision-making. About You: You are a proactive and solutions-focused professional who thrives in a dynamic operational environment. With strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, you build trust and credibility across all levels of the business. You will also bring: A tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, or a related fieldCA or CPA qualification (essential)7–10 years’ post-graduate experience with a solid background in management reportingDemonstrated leadership or supervisory experienceThe ability to work autonomously to identify and implement improvement opportunitiesA genuine commitment to safety as a core valueExperience with SAP (highly regarded)Previous exposure to the mining or broader resources sector (advantageous) The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 5:2/4/3 off roster, giving you the ideal balance of work and lifestyle.
