About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR & Compliance Officer to join our Administration team. This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering high‑quality, end‑to‑end human resources support and ensuring the School meets its legal, regulatory, and governance obligations.
You will oversee HR operations across the employee lifecycle, maintain compliance systems, support workplace relations matters, and act as a trusted advisor to school leaders on people, policy and compliance requirements.
This role suits a professional who is detail‑focused, highly organised, confident working with legislation and compliance frameworks, and committed to supporting a positive, safe and accountable school culture.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources
Support recruitment, onboarding, induction and exit processes for all staff groups.
Prepare contracts, verify qualifications and manage employment documentation.
Provide advice on performance, conduct and workplace behaviour.
Maintain accurate and secure HR records and personnel files.
Assist staff wellbeing and capability development initiatives.
Compliance & Risk
Act as the coordinator for the School’s full compliance management framework.
Ensure adherence to:
Fair Work and Industrial Relations legislation
Child Safe Organisation Act 2024
Teacher registration and Blue Card requirements
Workplace Health & Safety legislation
Privacy and records management obligations
Maintain compliance registers and support risk reporting and audits.
Monitor legislative changes and advise the Senior Leadership Team.
Workplace Health & Safety
Coordinate WorkCover injury management and return‑to‑work processes.
Ensure timely reporting of notifiable incidents.
Support WHS training, documentation and committee activities.
Policy & Documentation
Develop and review HR and compliance policies.
Prepare professional reports, briefs and communications.
Promote awareness of compliance obligations across the School.

HR and compliance records are current, accurate and audit‑ready.
All staff registrations, checks and certifications remain up to date.
Risks are proactively identified, documented and escalated.
Staff receive timely, professional and supportive HR services.
The School meets its legal, safety and governance requirements and maintains a strong culture of compliance.
About You – The Ideal Candidate
Mandatory Requirements
Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Legal right to work in Australia
Significant experience in HR roles preferably within a school or similar complex environment
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally
You Will Bring:
Strong knowledge of HR legislation and compliance frameworks
High‑level administrative and organisational capability
Excellent written communication and documentation skills
Sound judgement, discretion and an ability to escalate appropriately
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
