People & Culture Coordinator

Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is located in the heart of Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef.  With stunning views out to the impossibly blue waters of the Whitsundays, it is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island. 

The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

As a People & Culture Coordinator at Daydream Island you will play a vital role in supporting HR functions and maintaining a positive and engaging workplace culture.  Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this hands on role will see you play a pivotal part in attracting, engaging and onboarding the right people to support our operational and cultural goals. You will be the go-to for all things recruitment, while also lending support across generalist HR duties. 

About the role

• Manage full-cycle recruitment: advertising, screening, interviewing and assisting with onboarding.
• Partner with department managers to understand staffing needs
• Coordinate contracts, pre-employment checks and onboarding documentation
• Maintain accurate and up to to date employee records
• Assist with general People & Culture functions including engagement, reporting and compliance. 
• Assist in the development of statistics and reports.

• Complete essential administration tasks including maintaining the Human Resources Information System. 

About you…

• Previous HR / recruitment experience in a hotel, resort environment
• Dymanic and proactive 
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
• Strong administration skills and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite. 
• Proficient in using recruitment platforms and HRIS systems
• Ability to prioritise and manage high volume workload.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to handl sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
