Clinical Nurse – Residential Aged Care

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurses who are interested in progressing into a Clinical Nurse role at Good Shepherd Lodge, East Mackay.

This opportunity is ideal for Registered Nurses who demonstrate strong clinical leadership capability and are committed to delivering high-quality, resident-centered care in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards. This role works Monday to Friday, day shift only.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse provides clinical leadership and oversight across the facility, supporting best practice care delivery, mentoring nursing and care staff, and ensuring clinical governance, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role works collaboratively with the Clinical Manager, Facility Manager and multidisciplinary teams to promote excellence in care outcomes and resident wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expert guidance to nursing and care teams
  • Oversee clinical care delivery, documentation, and compliance with legislative and accreditation requirements
  • Support assessment, care planning, and evaluation of resident care
  • Lead and participate in clinical audits, incident management, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Mentor, coach, and support staff development and capability
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional workplace culture in accordance with our values

About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor of Nursing completed
  • Demonstrated experience in residential aged care
  • Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and clinical governance requirements
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and influence teams
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical assessment skills
  • A commitment to resident dignity, choice, and person-centred care
  • Further studies in Gerontology are advantageous
