Sydney Street Medical is a well-established, family-oriented General Practice located in the heart of Mackay. We are a busy, collaborative practice dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare through a team-based approach.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our friendly and professional team.
The successful applicant will be professional, efficient, and hardworking, with the ability to build strong rapport with patients and colleagues. We are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, adaptability, and a genuine passion for quality patient care.
A typical day in our General Practice may include:
Administering immunisations and vaccines
Wound care and dressing management
Patient triage
Assisting with minor procedures
Chronic disease management
Health assessments
Stock control
Data management and quality improvement activities
General administrative support
We are looking for a nurse who demonstrates:
Willingness to learn, contribute to a team environment, and lead by example
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and delegate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Confidence in autonomous decision-making while following established procedures
Initiative and drive to achieve positive outcomes for the clinic, doctors, and patients
Adaptability to different personalities and working styles
Flexibility to assist with leave coverage and roster changes
Current AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse)
Knowledge of chronic disease management (essential)
Strong time management and prioritisation skills
Proactive, positive “can-do” attitude
Professional presentation
Exceptional computer skills
Previous General Practice experience (highly regarded)
Willingness to participate in quality improvement activities, team meetings, and ongoing training
