As our office continues to grow, we are seeking a motivated Draftsperson to join our team and contribute to the delivery of projects through high-quality documentation, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning and development.
About the Role
As a Draftsperson, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of building design projects alongside our senior design team. You will assist with the preparation of technical drawings, design documentation, and project coordination across a range of residential and commercial projects, always working toward maintaining our high standards of quality, accuracy and client service.
This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in building design and drafting who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive, professional, and design-led studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Building Designers, Senior Draftspersons and Interior Design Specialists to meet project deadlines and client expectations.
Prepare detailed, accurate drawings and documentation in dedicated systems that reflect both design intent and compliance requirements.
Apply developing knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Queensland Development Code (QDC), Australian Standards and local planning schemes to your drafting work and deliverables.
Support the team with general project and administrative tasks that keep projects and the design studio running smoothly.
Continually learn, seek feedback and contribute to a positive and professional team-based culture.
About You
You are enthusiastic about building design and eager to begin or grow your career in drafting within a supportive and collaborative team environment. You enjoy learning new skills, take pride in accuracy and detail, and are motivated to develop your knowledge of design documentation and construction.
No prior industry experience is required - we are primarily looking for the right attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing a career in building design.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a strong interest in building design and architecture and is keen to develop a career in the building design industry.
Is organised, reliable and eager to learn, with the ability to take guidance and progressively build skills and responsibility.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work.
Communicates clearly and enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Brings a positive attitude, curiosity and motivation to grow within the role.
Highly desirable (although not essential):
Currently studying or working towards a Certificate IV in Building Design Drafting / Residential Drafting.
Exposure to Revit or similar drafting software, with an interest in continuing to develop proficiency.
Any previous experience in drafting, design, construction or a related field.
