About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor Port Maintenance Execution, as a Terminal Maintenance Tradesperson you will be responsible for performing Maintenance activities for weekly and long term maintenance of Dump Station, Stacker reclaimers, Shiploaders, ancillary equipment and Shutdown Maintenance as well as providing planning input to ensure the safe achievement of department objectives.

This role is based in the Mackay Area at the Hay Point Coal Terminal Site working on a 4 on 3 off daywork roster, some overtime shifts, day and night shifts as well as weekend work will be a requirement.

In this role you will:

• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Assist with any planned Mechanical maintenance and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Provide Mechanical trade skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance across all areas of Surface operations
• Work with your team to a high level of accountability and be able to build strong team relationships
• Provide Feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on job progress

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a relevant trade qualification with proven maintenance experience in Heavy industrial fixed plant Maintenance. Your strong focus on safety, drive and passion to improve will see you succeed in this role. Your people and communication skills are of the upmost importance as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience with 1SAP will be beneficial.

The nature of the role requires you to be a forward thinker and focused on process discipline. A background in planned maintenance teams with a strong safety focus will be critical to the success of this position.

• Post trade qualifications highly regarded
• Must have solid time management skills and be able to prioritise
• Need to be safety minded, with proven ability to demonstrate HSEC behaviors
• Able to work effectively in a team environment and work individually
• Experience in Maintenance or heavy industry
• Experience with Fixed Plant or materials handling / processing
• Experience with SAP or similar maintenance planning software;
• Experience with Microsoft office software.
• Ability to communicate well across multiple levels and disciplines
