About the position

Reporting to the Engineering Team, this residentially based position provides technical support to our major hazard facility, ensuring the safe production of cost effective, quality zinc products. 

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be involved in a variety of hands-on mechanical projects, gaining valuable experience and contributing to our mission of excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will be involved with the development, implementation and continue to improve the site's Management Of Change process, which includes site review, scoping the work and calculation/ analysis of change impact, cost review, supervision and contractor management.  Through activities, you will provide practical input into operations/maintenance teams to optimise process performance with a strong focus on engineering-based decision.

About you

With your qualifications in Mechanical engineering, you will have gained experience in minerals processing operations or similar heavy industry. You can interpret mechanical drawings including P&ID’s and have excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, FEM and Microsoft Excel.

Your high level of self-organisation, work ethic and problem-solving skills allow you to work autonomously with limited supervision.  You have excellent communication skills, a consultative approach and a strong commitment to safety.
