Mobile Employment Consultant - Mackay

As a Mobile Employment Consultant, you will provide one-on-one support to help a caseload of job seekers achieve sustainable and fulfilling employment. 

You will be responsible for delivering high quality, individually tailored services and support, with the aim of placing people into sustainable employment with local employers. You will mentor your clients; provide coaching, guidance, motivation from job preparation to 26 week outcome. Our caseload sizes enable you to spend the time to understand your clients need and match them to the right employer.

With a fully maintained company vehicle, this role embraces a unique and hybrid working model where Mobile Employment Consultants will work both in the field and office visiting clients and jobseekers. 

While the primary workplace is in Mackay, a key component of this role involves travelling to and supporting the Sarina community.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Motivate, engage and inspire job seekers to build their skills, experience and confidence and to work with them to remove their perceived barriers
  • Create individually tailored services and support plans 
  • Support people to find suitable, sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities with local or national employers
  • Build and maintain a network of employers to generate and source employment opportunities 
  • Provide post-placement support to both the jobseeker and employers

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following skills and experience:

  • A background in jobactive, knowledge of ESS, relevant industry experience/ tertiary qualifications (highly advantageous)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and build rapport with jobseekers and employers
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of people from different socio-economic backgrounds
  • Be passionate about helping people and making a difference in the community
  • Be highly organised and possess strong administration skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office or similar software and experience using databases
  • Have a current drivers licence
  • Be results and target driven
  • Be flexible and capable of managing competing demands in a fast-paced and changing environment
