About the role: Peabody are currently seeking Underground Mechanical Fitters (Development) to join our Centurion underground mine; Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit (centurionmine.com.au) Reporting to the Mine Manager the scope of your new role will be include. Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on underground mobile equipment.Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure safe, reliable operation.Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role.Work closely with the shift supervisor and other trades to ensure minimal downtime.Work to “Best Practice” techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard.Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirementsParticipate in site continuous improvement initiatives. In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
