About NRL Cowboys House:

NRL Cowboys House provides supported accommodation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote communities in North and Far North Queensland, enabling access to quality secondary education in Townsville. Managed by the Cowboys Community Foundation, the House is a purpose-built, centrally located residence with a dedicated and passionate team.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Boarding Supervisors to join our team. Multiple positions are available, including day and active night shifts. In these rewarding roles, you will support students in a safe, engaging, and culturally respectful environment, helping them achieve their educational and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support students in their daily routines, including study, recreation, and wellbeing
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and culturally safe living environment
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Assist with the organisation of activities and events
  • Ensure compliance with House policies and procedures
  • Respond to student needs and provide guidance as required
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth operation of the House

About You:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a boarding, residential, or youth support setting
  • Understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to child safety and wellbeing
  • Willingness to work days or night shifts as rostered
  • Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
