About the role

AltruCare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Rockhampton, QLD. This casual role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with disabilities, supporting them to achieve their personal goals and live independently.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and social engagement

  • Supporting clients to participate in community-based activities and access local services

  • Advocating for client needs and collaborating with allied health professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans

  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to ensure high-quality, continuity of care

  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and supportive environment

What we're looking for

  • A demonstrated understanding of person-centred, empowering approaches to disability support

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and their families.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on promoting client independence and wellbeing

  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with individuals with diverse needs and abilities

  • A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
