The Townsville Chamber of Commerce has been backing local business since 1882, and today we’re as passionate as ever about helping our region grow, connect, and thrive. We’re a small, close‑knit team that loves what we do, works hard together, and celebrates the wins—big and small—that make a real difference to Townsville’s business community.

⭐ The Role

We’re looking for someone who enjoys people, thrives in a busy environment, and loves being part of a team that gets things done. This role is all about supporting our members, helping our events shine, and keeping our operations running smoothly so the Chamber can continue to champion local business.

🎉 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Growing and supporting our member base by being their go‑to contact, helping them feel welcome, informed, and connected.

  • Driving engagement through membership campaigns, recruitment activities, and hands‑on support at Chamber events.

  • Helping bring events to life—from planning to on‑the‑day coordination—so our members have great experiences every time.

  • Keeping our operations humming with organised, reliable administrative support for the CEO and team.

  • Maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring our office runs efficiently.

  • Assisting with financial admin, including invoices and weekly reporting.

You enjoy working with people, you’re not afraid of hard work, and you take pride in pitching in wherever the team needs you. You’re organised, adaptable, and motivated by the idea of contributing to something bigger—helping Townsville’s business community grow and thrive.

📚 What You Bring

  • Experience in membership, administration, or customer‑focused roles

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed

  • Bonus points for experience with Xero or qualifications in business, marketing, communications, or finance
