Your new role
In this pivotal position, you will take ownership of the school’s core financial operations while working closely with the Business Manager across reporting, compliance, and strategic decision‑making. You will oversee the full monthly and annual reporting cycle, maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, prepare audit documentation, and lead the coordination of annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
A key component of the role is the management of a large and complex payroll function, covering a fortnightly cycle for approximately 200 staff. You will also lead a small finance and administration team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Reception. Additional responsibilities include BAS and FBT preparation, cash flow oversight, fixed asset maintenance, insurance administration, and contributing to financial modelling to support operational and strategic initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related discipline).Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally 5+ years.
Strong technical capability across reporting, payroll, budgeting and compliance.
Experience overseeing small teams and driving process improvements.
High level of accuracy, analytical capability and professional judgement.
Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines and maintain strict confidentiality.
Blue Card (or ability to obtain) and current First Aid Certificate.
