Management Accountant - Townsville
Contract : 3-6 months 
Hours: Full-time
Start date: As soon as possible

This role supports the delivery of high-quality financial management, analysis, and advice across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, the position contributes to effective budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial compliance, helping to drive sound decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with budget and forecasting activities, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver robust five-year operational expenditure budgets
  • Preparing accurate monthly operational expenditure forecasts in partnership with business stakeholders
  • Tracking budget performance throughout the financial year and recommending adjustments where required
  • Partnering with business unit managers and leaders to develop, implement, and monitor cost control initiatives
  • Providing financial analysis and advice for projects, initiatives, and business cases, including assessment of financial viability and potential impacts
  • Undertaking detailed cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and improvements in operational efficiency
  • Responding to financial enquiries and providing guidance to employees at all levels across the organisation
  • Delivering financial compliance advice and support, ensuring correct accounting practices and reporting in line with policies and standards
Key Skills:
  • Strong financial analysis and budgeting expertise
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
